Emilio Alverson

Emilio is originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina. He started playing violin when he was eight years old because his best friend played the viola. He loved to participate in music in school. He played in the orchestra, sang in the choir, and participated in musical theater. During the end of his high school career, he moved away from home to Greenville to attend The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, a residential arts high school, where he received his Artist Diploma. Besides the violin, Emilio also plays the piano and the harp. Outside of music, Emilio enjoys photography, writing, video games, software development, and playing with cats. He is currently a student at Furman University, where he is double majoring in Music: Violin Performance and Computer Science. After he graduates in 2019, he plans to go to graduate school to receive his Master’s Degree in Music, and to enter into a Doctoral Program after that.
